At Boerne ISD, our Guest Teachers (Substitutes) provide critical instructional continuity to our students' learning environment. Thank you for joining our team to support our students and teachers in our BISD classrooms.  BISD values and appreciates our Guest Teachers!

    Application

    Through our online application system, TalentED Hire, applicants may submit and update their application information electronically. Interested individuals are encouraged to complete an application online by visiting the Boerne ISD website.

    2. Upload all your documents, including certification documents, resume, transcripts, and reference information.  Applications without required documents will not be considered.
    3. A complete application is required to be considered but does not guarantee employment.

  • Fingerprinting

    Once you receive an offer of employment, you will receive further instructions and a code for fingerprinting.  All district employees are required to be fingerprinted prior to the offer of employment.  The candidate is responsible for the fingerprinting fee.

  • Onboarding: Training and Orientation (Attendance is required.)
    While onboarding, you will learn about our Guest Teacher program. You will also connect with campus administrators, secretaries, and fellow guest teachers during our interactive panels.  Our Technology team will guide you through accessing BISD's employee portal, Frontline, and TalentEd as well as provide you with tools to help you navigate the classroom. Additionally, Boerne Police Officers who serve as School Resource Officers (SROs) on BISD campuses will present crucial safety and security protocols. 

    Digital invitations are sent once a candidate has been selected and offered a position.  Sessions are scheduled from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at the BISD Administration Building.

  • Substitute Type Daily Rate
    Non-Degreed/Degreed (Non-Certified)                        $120
    Certified * $135
    Non-Certified (Long-Term, Starting Day 11) $135
    Certified - Instructional Aide Assignment (Long-Term)  $135
    Certified - Teaching Assignment (Days 1-10)  $135
    Certified - Teaching Assignment (Starting Day 11 **) Long-Term  $185
    Nurse (Substitute)  $135
    LSSP (Substitute)  $250
    Certified Administrator (Substitute) $300
    Clerical (Substitute)  $15 per hour
    Food Service (Substitute)  $12 per hour
    ong-Term Teacher Assignments are reserved for certified substitutes and require a minimum of 10 consecutive workdays in the same classroom. All assignments must be approved in advance by Human Resources. Substitutes may have one (1) absence during the assignment without resetting the long-term rate.

    Half-day assignments are paid at half of the daily rate.

    * Must be a certified teacher in the State of Texas to be eligible for certified rate. 

    ** Must be in the same teaching assignment for at least 10 consecutive days.
